Nowadays, ...

...we are often bombed by huge challenges whose solutions are difficult to explore. We can even feel lost, abandoned, and powerless in front of critical problems, such as the increasing pollution of our ecosystems, biodiversity loss, food waste, and unprotected human and animal rights.

In this feeling of loneliness and confusion, we need leaders. We need people who can inspire us to take the right direction, and commit to the right solutions. We need change-makers that actively tackle our biggest challenges and bring us with them through the journey. In our newest column “People That Inspire Us” we aim at telling stories through people that can guide you towards your objectives, and can give you that hope that we’re slowly losing. We’ll introduce to you incredible stories that are changing the world and we hope it will pave the way for many other people to do the same.

But first, let’s discover together what it means to be a great leader and why we need this.

A leader's job is different from a manager's, isn't it? A leader is a person who provides added value to the environment or team, has a vision with a broad perspective, takes into account the ideas of other people and provides support in their development, and has a great motivational effect. Leadership is complex and multifaceted. It can make or break a team, the execution of an idea, or an organization. The last few years have shown us the need for the right kind of leadership. Achieving goals, creating new products and markets, and championing a group of people takes the right mix of leadership qualities and competence.

Today, we all come together for many different problems, establish solidarity, unite and seek solutions to different issues. For example, when we think about environmental problems, and human rights, again in the fashion ecosystem, it is inevitable for us to unite around the same problems. It is true that for all these movements to be united, we often act in the company of and inspired by the leaders.

In a managerial context, ...

...positive leadership is facilitating and purposefully influencing positive emotions that encourage all of the team members and employees to improve in their work. Positive leaders cultivate an empowering environment through communication, accountability, emotional intelligence, motivation, and a model-worthy work ethic. Just as you will prepare and prepare the soil for agriculture, positive leadership aims to provide an effective and emotionally invested workforce in the most seamless way possible.
