In a world that is constantly promoting the health of our planet and people, have you ever wanted to help but didn’t know how?

The ecosystems are constantly telling us to do more for the health of our planet, but no one ever really tells us how to get started. A great solution to commit yourself into making a positive impact is to explore climate tech start-ups and their services. These companies often offer easy and impactful solutions for consumers to help make an impact in the simplest ways.

Treedom, 3bee and Team Climate are three climate tech start-ups inviting consumers to make a difference in the simplest ways. If you want to make a change, check out these companies which are working to plant trees, protect the bees and teach consumers how to become carbon neutral.

Treedom

In 2010, Treedom set out to “green the planet” by planting trees. Over the years, Treedom has planted over 3 million trees across Africa, South America and Italy, for more than 1 million users. So how does it work? It’s simple: choose a tree, buy it (or give it to your loved ones) and follow its story. Each tree is given its own online page so you can track its progress. You can choose from a wide range of trees, like mango, cacao and macadamia, which are planted in countries that will best support their growth and the growth of that country’s environment (a win-win). Malawi, Cameroon and Kenya are just a few examples. As a result of choosing a tree and planting it in its corresponding country, you are supporting farmer communities across the world and contributing to make the planet greener and healthier.

By planting a tree with Treedom, you are helping the start-up to directly finance sustainable agroforestry efforts. The company prioritizes environmental, economic and social concerns by respecting the biodiversity of different areas, as well as teaching and financing the communities who are involved in these planting projects. According to their website, “The trees and their fruits belong to the farmers, allowing them to diversify and supplement their income and in some cases to launch micro-entrepreneurship initiatives.” Treedom aids in the overall environmental impact by introducing the right species in the right countries, and you can be a part of this.

3bee

3bee is another interesting start-up which makes it easy for you to positively impact bee environments. They offer you the opportunity to choose your hive by picking your preferred beekeeper to care for your bees and send their honey directly to you at home, take care of your hive remotely by watching its progress using 3bee’s solar impulse devices, cooperate with your brand through community e-biodiversity, monitor the life of your hive, and share online to have your bees adopted and honey sold to adopters.

Saving the bees is important for the overall health of local environments. This is because bees pollinate flowers and plants, which provide oxygen, fruits and vegetables. Because of climate change, it is getting harder for bees to rely on flowers for nectar, their primary food source. As 3bee is an Italian start-up, there are many great regions in Italy to help the bees and get in exchange fantastic local honey, such as Tuscany. You can also adopt hives in Spain, France and Germany. Most of the hives to be adopted pollinate multiflora, heidysarium and robinia plants. By partnering with 3bee, you can help take care of the bee and plant populations, and get great local honey in return.

Team Climate

Last but not least, Team Climate offers a monthly subscription for their service which helps consumers learn how to help fight the climate crisis. Using their app, you can calculate your carbon footprint, support climate solutions through worldwide climate projects, track your CO2 impact in real time to learn how to reduce your footprint and build a team of friends and family that will track their progress with you.

Some of the certified climate projects that Team Climate offers include rainforest production, clean water and wind energy. There are currently two projects underway in Peru to aid Amazon Rainforest production in Tambopata and Ucayali. There are also two projects to provide clean water in Bangladesh and Sierra Leone by enabling clean drinking water through solar water disinfection and restoring wells. TeamClimate is also helping to provide clean wind energy to two farms in India, which will help substitute coal power. By subscribing to TeamClimate’s mission for a few euros a month, you can help reduce your carbon footprint and support local conservation projects one step at a time.
